The procedures outlined below help to build collaborative 和 safe partnerships with internship sites 和 help 学生 to make informed decisions about their internship experience.

"An academic internship formally integrates the student’s academic study with practical experience in a cooperating organization. It is an off-campus activity designed to serve educational purposes by offering experience in service learning, 业务, 非营利性的, 或者政府设置. Prior to placing 学生 in an internship for academic credit, an assessment of the appropriateness of the internship site must be conducted 和 a written assessment summary must be retained by the 职业中心. The following considerations must be addressed by the relevant parties, 哪位就业中心的工作人员负责协调.

作为教师, your initiation of the academic internship process involves the 学分申请实习 form, which is distributed with DocuSign in the following situations:
The student identifies the faculty who will teach the course. The student 和 faculty complete the 学分申请实习 form. The student will be the “Requestor” 和 should enter the faculty name 和 email under “教师.” An official copy of the internship description must be attached to the request form. 另外，还可以附上录取通知书.

雇主 regularly approach the 职业中心 to establish an internship for academic credit.
